Description: The content in this course focuses on how individuals’ behavior choices can be influenced by dysfunctional growth and development. Dysfunctional growth and development often manifests itself through inappropriate and, eventually, delinquent behavior. Trust, security, and attachment must exist for normal growth and development to occur. Individuals that have not experienced trust, security and attachment often display behavior that is confusing and frustrating for staff. Understanding the causes and impact of dysfunctional growth and development puts staff in a better position to help these individuals succeed.
